"The Spell" is the first single by Alphabeat to be released from their second album of the same name. The song uses keyboard chords very similar to those found in Cut 'N' Move's Get Serious.

The Spell was released in Denmark in late September and topped the charts on 1 October 2009. The song was released in the UK on 19 October 2009.

The video was directed by Toben Seymour, who had directed the band's previous single. It was the first ever video to be shown on UK's Viva channel.
